“The Government of the Netherlands Antilles realizes that if it wants to develop the economy and increase the welfare of its people it is imperative to look beyond our own borders and to encourage international trade / relationships.
In our attempt to broaden this reach internationally, the Government is focusing on the Latin American market in order to offer Curacao and its services as a gateway to Europe and the rest of the world. This is why the Government of Curaçao endorses the Wealth and Business Preservation Conference 2007 organized by The Curacao International Financial Services Association (CIFA).
This 4-day conference (September 6 – 9, 2007) is directed towards high net worth individuals from Latin American countries. We have perceived a growing interest of these high net worth individuals to explore alternative options for wealth and business preservation outside of their home country including the possibility of permanent residency for their families in Curaçao. These individuals typically need to maintain management control of their businesses in their home countries, which implies also a prerequisite of excellent facilities for –as an example- parking their private plane or docking their yachts including flexible and VIP-type admittance and departure immigration procedures.
Curaçao would be the logical choice because of its strategic location between the Americas, political stability, and its safe natural harbors with deep waters, and as such has been a center of commerce and business. Since 1954, Curaçao has been known more specifically as a financial center and as a result of its long-time activity in this area, has developed an infrastructure well suited for (offshore) finance, investment banking, shipping registration and mutual funds.
This conference will be a unique joint marketing event in which various local organizations join forces to promote the use of Curaçao as a “safe haven”-alternative for these Latin Americans, looking for a jurisdiction with a sound well-regulated legal and financial environment to harbor their business ventures as well as their corporate and private assets, such as private planes and yachts.
If you would like to receive the flyer on this conference, we are happy to send this to you digitally. For more information on this conference, please contact the State Secretary of Finance of the Netherlands Antilles, Mr. Alex Rosaria at 465-7166 or via e-mail at alex.rosaria@gov.an.”
